I’m very proud of his accomplishments and the person he is. And when the time comes where he wants to fully transition I’ll be right there being a supportive father.

Emotional manipulation? This just shows how selfish this person is as a parent. Instead of trying to help her child, she sees their suicidal ideation as an attack her comfort zone. If this child is still a minor, they need to be placed in a healthy environment.

Your kid will be, or already is, proud of you too. That's what matters. Saying it as a nonbimary person who came out at 11 in an Eastern European country where anything queer was illegal until a year after I came out.
