So Ben Johnson let Washington know he was out of the running while the team was flying to meet him, source tells me. That is going to look BAD if/when he wants more head coaching interviews next year or beyond.

They are but my point is about Ben Johnson. His poor handling of the situation won't stop Washington from moving forward.

I think he is unprofessional in his handling of the situation. He handled this poorly, regardless of his wanting to stay in Detroit. Nothing wrong with staying put, it is how that is communicated where the issues matter. Especially as an HC prospect around the league.

HC positions don’t come along all the time. Can’t take a position with a horrible organization to ruin your career. Smart move Ben Johnson.

What if everyone was aware that he leaning lions, even tho they were flying out. And w/the pressure of them on the way it pushed in to make a decision, instead of wasting more of their time. So he calls them, as opposed to pretending hes interested just so it wouldnt look bad

He just didn’t want to waste more of their time. Commanders should feel lucky he considered them at all given how poorly the franchise has been run.
