Sam Howell was pressured on 17 dropbacks vs. New England. Went 8-13 for 108 yards and sacked 3 times. I think his production in these situations was a good sign of progress b/c as much as I think the OL made a difference over the past two weeks, his being decisive under pressure…
Mean to add here about the sacks. He took 3, but did a really good job Sunday mitigating the loss on two of them. Within a yard or two from the LOS. He also used his legs to get just a couple of yards instead of taking a sack. Overall, his decision making was good.

Sacked once if we’re being honest. The other two don’t tell us anything about his ability to drop back, process and make good decisions. And that’s what really matters.

Eric Bieniemy is doing a great job with him. He has shown improvement over the last two weeks.
We have to be patient with him. It’s only his 8th start or something and he was a 5th round pick for a reason. We need more consistency before we can label him a true NFL starting QB.

Jamual, I covet a big body receiver like Higgins, athletic TE and a talented tackle. Maybe a speed back. That cures our offense and helps Sam tremendously. On D we need an edge and backer. Use the draft & FA to fulfill.
@LetMualTellit
He seems more decisive, the O-Line has looked better, and EB is finally rolling him out, moving the pocket, and using his ability to run/scramble to keep defensives guessing. Clear improvement in all 3 areas.

Impressive. Even though many of those were quick/hot reads underneath. He still looked under control. Processing time has sped way up from earlier this year.
@LetMualTellit
I think he is doing a better job but he is also being put into better position. The playcalling has been better and the oline has blown way less protections. It's a combination of all 3 just like the sacks were. Next 3 games will tell alot againest 3 well coached defenses.

JT O’Sullivan’s breakdown on YouTube was interesting. If Howell can clean up some pocket movement things it seems like he would be truly crushing it. Still played well despite some of that.
