there's so much to say about the way the original scene looks. the shadows enveloping the eyes on his blank expression, the equal focus on the actual self vs the reflection, the weird claw hand thing he does over his face. it's an iconic shot for a reason.

@KuuEater Yeah this sets the tone so well. The claw over the face gesture is intentionally supposed to be something to do to check if your within a lucid dream. Which thematically fits so well with him about to take his first steps into Silent Hill itself

@KuuEater The blank expression is the main thing hurting it here. The whole point is that he’s emotionally dead and the town would act as a window into the guilt and trauma he carries with him. Here it just shows him really sad to hammer in the fact that he’s SUPER SAD.

@KuuEater Its gonna be one of those shot for shot remakes that doesnt really understand what the original shots were about so they'll radically change camera angles, body language and lighting without thought

@KuuEater the blank expression is a limitation of tech at the time... FYI

@KuuEater There's also a secret thing where if you brighten your TV enough in the original shot you'd realise that the reflection is looking straight at you. Honestly, I'm much more hopeful for the silent hill f which is fortunately coming to every platform.
