Tahoma at sunset tonight. Pretty but really feeling uneasy about how little snow there is already. It hasn't even gotten hot yet. But, maybe I'm just dramatic - what do you say?

@KristinLRaught We live in a gorgeous area! Love seeing the mountain for our front porch each morning during coffee chats with our neighbor ❤️

@KristinLRaught I am not sure she ever recovered from the 100 degree temps from 2 years ago.

@KristinLRaught Studies show that Tahoma has lost half its ice since 1896. Makes sense to me that less ice would mean whatever snow there is would melt earlier in the year.

@KristinLRaught Looks like late August 😳 SeaTac is around 6 inches shy of the norm, for this time of the season. I worry about WILDFIRES 🔥 #ClimateCrisis ❤ your work !! 👍

@KristinLRaught The melting is a legit concern. The unstable jet stream vacillates between heat domes (Canada on fire, TX and Mex melting) and cooler troughs (snow in the mtns last week, biblical hailstorms in CO). I'd say concern level is existential.

@KristinLRaught Agreed! This is the mountain from the plane, it feels way too bare for this time of year!

@KristinLRaught I'm just hoping that it was so white because there was so much snow this year?🤷‍♂️🤞

@KristinLRaught Beautiful. Stunning. Agreed, looks like it does in August in a dry year already. The snowpack disappeared with a quickness this year

@KristinLRaught Same here. Mt. Hood is losing it's top snow early...I remember the year of 115⁰, where the evergreen trees burnt to a crisp...And now they're ever-brown trees. Lol.

@KristinLRaught The Sierras got a lot of Rainier's usual snow this past water year, but the reservoirs are in good shape and we had timely June rain to tamp down the wildfire danger.
