People are always attracted by magic tricks. SEO is a practical, reverse-engineered practice (we don’t know most things) on top of that.

Nothing wrong with it if it makes you money. Unless you mean that you're not an SEO if you don't rank in the US or some other highly competitive industry.
SEO is huge and to each his/her own.
Nothing wrong with finding shortcuts and monetizing properly.

If you’re able to find high traffic keywords with zero competition I would say you have a sophisticated concept, regardless of the site language.
