This is a “Reindeer Cyclone”. A swirling mass of threatened reindeer stampeding in a circle making it impossible to target an individual. The weakest and fawns are in the middle..

@KerryMi34737041 @buitengebieden Reindeer who are kept in corrals of at least 20-25 or more can also exhibit this behavior which is probably why this video has the fence.

@buitengebieden This behavior was recorded by Vikings, who hunted reindeer. When they faced the threat of hunters, reindeer moved together to form a cyclone around the threat. They moved so fast in circles that it made it hard for the hunters to focus on an animal long enough to take them…
