EDs that are so dependent on the med reg are a weird concept to me. Where are the EM seniors? It’s relatively uncommon to see a med reg in my department. Maybe for the borderline MAU admissions, but that’s it.

1️⃣ Key thing in this flowchart = a well outpatient without AKI who has potassium 6.3mmol/L on routine bloods can be managed as an outpatient (yes they need prompt review, repeat bloods and some thought - but what they don’t need is a repeat test in ED at 3am)

Each week the trust emails a newsletter which is only readable on the intranet. The link is dead when you try and access at home. Most clinical staff never get time to sit and look at this stuff at work on a work computer and therefore never read the newsletter. Such. A. Waste.

@LawrenceDunhill @NorthMcrGH_NHS What has also made a difference @LawrenceDunhill is the engagement from the ED clinicians and nurses and an 'all site' approach. When NMGH ED are holding ambulances the site are fully engaged, so it's not just an ED game. It's about getting ambulance crews back out on the road.

@lwarburton92 I thought that didn’t deserve the ire it received. A trust that did something, albeit relatively low cost got hauled over the coals, whereas those trusts that did nothing weren’t.
