Gone are the days where you grabbed your sleeping bag, camped out in front of the box office, partied all night with your friends, got amazing tickets and paid ZERO in fees.

Bryant Park on 42nd was our spot. We usually began lining up around midnight. A couple of police switched shifts with those ordered to patrol the area. They were long time Heads. During cold days they brought a van to let us stay in till close to ticket time.

parked at a completely deserted strip mall where one little shop had an outlet for dead tickets. around 2 a.m. a cop rolls up and asks me what I'm up to. "Believe it or not, waiting for that store to open." 😆

Yeah we had some secret stash places that I ended up getting front row for a shitload of great bands, but most of the time for The Grateful Dead I mail ordered from the post office out by O'Hare at midnight. The envelopes got there that morning

I skated my board the 8 plus miles from the City of Orange to South Coast Plaza and hung out all night for Momentary Lapse of Reason at the Forum in LA, which I would eventually board and hitch to!
I’d leave home within days of that life changing experience.
