The backstage guys just had a hard time figuring out how to get her in the mix. After the Wall Of Sound madness, they placed her very well in the slower, more stripped down, system. She was the MVP of 1976.

I was in the Grateful Dead?
I don't remember any girls in the band.
Am I missing something?
I auditioned for Frank Zappa and did not pass the audition.
I guess I was missing something.

Ya know I have opinions on this. I appreciate the work she did with Elvis and at Muscle Shoals. However, I have never been a fan of hers while with the Dead. I feel on most songs she is overpowering the boys. (~):}

I think of Mississippi 1/2 Step. Listen to 1973 whereโs she mostly providing vocals and then the late 70โs where sheโs driving the Rio Grandio chorus.
