Aleksander Ładoś, born 130 years ago, served 1940-45 as Polish Ambassador to Switzerland. His staff together with
@WorldJewishCong
and Agudath Yisrael provided Jews with thousands of Latin American papers saving many lives.

Among more than 800 identified survivors, the majority were not Polish Jews! Ładoś and his men provided help to Dutch and German Jews as well as people from a dozen of other European countries. More info here:

About half the documents were fake Paraguayan papers, 95% of them forged by one man, Ładoś' subordinate, Polish Consul Konstanty Rokicki, who died in 1958 in total poverty and who was only posthumously awarded the title of “Righteous Among the Nations” by Yad Vashem in 2019. 4/7
