Abby and her friends heard that someone's name was Joel, proceeded to beat him to death without even bothering to verify if he was the one they were looking for, then called it mission accomplished. The Last of Us 2's writing was garbage.

@MDGeist002 @Cynical_CJ Exactly. It's how so many blatant lies are now circulating as criticisms, e.g. "Joel wouldn't introduce himself by name!" because they saw that clip in isolation, ignoring that it was preceded by Tommy giving his name away.

@Irish_Lad94 @Cynical_CJ They shot him in the leg before even verifying it was the Joel they were looking for. Only asking AFTER THEY CRIPPLED SOMEONE FOR LIFE. A first name alone isn’t enough to assume it’s the right guy. It’s not like it’s that uncommon a name, or Tommy for that matter.

@reply671x @Cynical_CJ They came there SPECIFICALLY looking for Tommy Miller as a potential lead to Joel. they came across someone introducing themselves as "Tommy, and here's my brother Joel" and they did NOT shoot him in the knee until AFTER the Miller name came up as confirmation.

@vredxiii @Cynical_CJ Revenge for the massacre Joel committed at the end of the first game, the group that kills him are remnants of the Fireflies, they lost their friends and their cause to Joel Abby, the one really pushing for it, is the daughter of the surgeon who Joel killed.
