@HistoryHit @ancientstristan My question is.. Was Vindolanda still a working settlement post-Roman withdrawal from Britain in the early 5th Century? And if so did it transcend the dark ages roughly 400-750AD and the Saxon occupation as a settlement, into early Medieval times?
