@Hadley I found out I don’t do well in the corporate world, because I try to fix things and challenge processes that are ineffective. On the other hand !! That means that I’m thriving as a founder!

@Hadley I like building things, but we have to hire teams to make them become large, profitable organizations. I hope they don’t think coming to work is meaningless. Also, some people need/like the having health insurance, pensions & going on vacay worry-free. Founders don’t have that.

@saraledterman Those people you hire are also building a startup so I was including them but agree as you get bigger keeping it meaningful gets harder

@Hadley This is specific to you, some people find meaning in working at an existing company. No reason to throw shade at them

@AdamSinger If they find meaning than it’s not a meaningless job

@Hadley On the other hand, you can have meaningless 8-16 job but meaningful life outside of work.

@Hadley Also, hear and agree with your point on “meaningless jobs” as opposed to a blanket statement on all jobs. Implicit in your statement is that there can be meaningful jobs — speaking of which, we are hiring :)

@Hadley Hard underline for me, but I know many for whom it’s the opposite. Helpful to consider what you want out of life rather than defaulting to the zeitgeist

@Hadley Building and running my business I have never worked so hard in my life. But it’s doing something I love and at the end of the day I wouldn’t choose any other option.
