He says heโs close to being a billionaire but doesnโt want to pay tax on his earnings. The greed of the super rich is something to behold, and of course an example is set by our head of state and his family.
@GrahamSmith_
You havenโt read the article - he is happy to pay tax on his UK earnings, and with a staff of 20 he will have a large NI bill too, but he doesnโt want to pay taxes on his foreign companies, he also doesnโt want his estate to pay IHT - we can chose to chase the foreign rich awayโฆ
@stephenlondoner
If he's resident here he should pay tax on his earnings, all of it. Otherwise he can simply off-shore earnings and avoid tax. And why shouldn't he pay NI and IHT? He doesn't need ยฃ900m pounds. He should pay his taxes.
@GrahamSmith_
Asking someone who's earned their money fairly and outside the UK to pay more tax "because the rich need to pay more tax", is not comparable to the head of state family who are literally making their money based on an unfair and corrupt advantage
@GrahamSmith_
I just retired from work after 52 years with a modest pay off, and I paid 1/3 of that in tax and still pay tax on my pensions
People like these can go.
@Conservatives
always make the ordinary working man subsidise the super rich they've been doing it for years

I think itโs possible to be driven slightly mad by extreme wealth. Sharing is something thatโs almost baked into humanness (watch little children do it, it comes naturally to them).
@GrahamSmith_
All I picture whenever one of these multi-millionaires talks about taxes.
The greed is insane.
Even if he paid higher taxes, him and all his non-dom friends would still be multimillionaires living extremely luxurious lives.

@KKrowe9
He can go with our blessings and he knows what he can do with his pile of cash. He might be wealthy but I doubt if it will bring him true happiness. He will have to spend all his time trying to protect it from others.
@GrahamSmith_
So...his businesses are abroad, no loss there. He pays no UK tax, no loss there (but happy to pay 100s of 1000s to a crooked govt to keep on avoiding tax). Must like living in UK, so his loss.
@GrahamSmith_
But he does pay tax. When you look at the effects of driving these people out then it has to be questioned whether itโs really such a great idea. Whether heโs greedy or not is irrelevant - the benefits of him staying are significant.
@GrahamSmith_
He's little more than a holidaymaker. He's lived here 15 years out of his 50 (but, it appears, still managed to influence this Tory govt)
