This is clearly untrue and we were prevented from protesting. I found it remarkably difficult to protest from inside a cell.

It was not our intention to prevent protest. It is very clear a number of protests took place across the footprint both before, during and after the event with no police intervention. Any suggestion all protest was prohibited is not correct. ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ”ฝ

@GrahamSmith_ @tcmurray Itโ€™s worth remembering that a massive protest WAS allowed to take place on Trafalgar Square in sight of the parade route.

@GrahamSmith_ @LairyMilk You've probably had far more publicity than if you had been in a corner of trafalgar sq. Probably some pro-republican police helping your cause.

@GrahamSmith_ @juvejon We should talk. They claimed threatening us with ยฃ10K in fines and prosecution under serious crimes act had no chilling effect on our rights. They lost. Obviously

@GrahamSmith_ Next time maybe arrange your protest in Hyde Park instead of trying to breach the peace?

@GrahamSmith_ Hang on, weโ€™ve all seen the pics of the banners being wavedโ€ฆ. The Met can also say that tensions were controlled and normality maintained. Iโ€™m guessing that outcome was pretty close to their original planned outcome for the day.

@GrahamSmith_ I hope you're giving serious consideration to proceedings for wrongful arrest and/or false imprisonment. The Met can't be allowed to get away with this.

@GrahamSmith_ Yes. Tricky to protest from a cell: no access to the world, no window, no way to tell the time, a loo (no seat) in front of your โ€˜bedโ€™, convex mirror on the ceiling, hourly welfare checks that wake you. Intention to prevent present & future protest. Oops sorry doesnโ€™t cut it.

@GrahamSmith_ I saw quite a large protest on Piccadilly, in Green Park, on the lower Strand and near Canada House. Police everywhere keeping an eye out but not preventing the protests. NB Lots of people against the protests because the common theme was that they shouldnโ€™t spoil peopleโ€™s day.
