FS was a red card yesterday, it is 100% unlucky but it was a card regardless. The whistle wasn’t blow, Keenan was clearly regathering the ball and FS needed to be in a position to make a tackle - he wasn’t so he ended up clattering him in the head.
Exactly the same as a player mistiming a guy in the air. FS was expecting a whistle or the play to stop, it didn’t and he is still responsible for how he enters a contact. The ‘I didn’t have time’ defence - had the ball not gone to ground he would have had to make a tackle.
Which he absolutely would have done. He switched off for a split second, and another player had to leave the field, an unfortunate series of events but as we tell the U-13s keep playing till you hear the whistle
@Gordonwdarcy
steward doesn't go for the tackle as Hanson knocks the ball on, and if keenan didn't catch it and steward tackled it would be penalty for tackle without the ball. it hits all mitigation for no intention, elbow into the body, no time to adjust and keenans sudden change in height
