This iron pyrite ammonite fossil beautifully shows off one of the coolest features of these ancient animals. The fossils of these shells often have well preserved 'suture lines', the plant-like patterns in this picture.
The lava fountain had erupted and the leftover liquid lava inside the crater settled down. It shows off how incredibly beautiful the inside of the main crater of the Geldingadalir eruption was.

Beautiful example of syncline (a fold facing upwards) from Racha, Georgia. There are many folds like this one in the region: they formed as a result of the mountain building event that generated the Caucasus mountain belt.
