The ditching of Thursday practice at Monaco makes me a little sad. It was part of what made the event stand out as special. Like spending weeks at Indy or the multi-day build up to Le Mans.

The special-ness of events for participants matters. Hard to quantify, probably hard to justify in the bottom line, but I agree - always a bummer to see it reduced.
