If any racing fan kids stuck at home from school are keen to learn about engineering and/or race cars, hit me up with some questions and Iโll see if I can help.

Getting experience & building connections is the name of the game. Look for internship opportunities? Any experience is good experience at this point for you. Best of luck!

Would really like these seamless shift gearbox's workings explained. With zero break-in power delivery. Im not a kid though (although the wife says im like 2). You wanna break something complex down, this should be it :)

I like this suggestion... And I might know a thing or two about it from my days as a control systems engineer back when we were all developing these things. ๐ค

Hahaha ummm.. guessing 5 to 7 degrees? Depends on steering weight / balance requirements / desired camber change. Iโm going to take a wild guess and say between 5-7 degrees ๐

How important is it to know people in the motorsport circus to work in a team? How easy or hard is it to get in a team and work your way up as an engineer without contacts?
@GDubRacer
@josefnewgarden
how does a team decide which engineers travel around racetracks and which stay at the factory and monitor the races from there?
@GDubRacer
Hey Gavin, thanks for taking the time to do this. From your experience do the internship programs at Motorsport oriented schools like UNC Charlotte and IUPUI offer undergrads opportunities within the paddock, or how do you recommend students pursue a career in the field?
@GDubRacer
Once my lad gets up from bed...Iโll have him hit you up! Heโs aiming to get into STEM for high school...and loves racing. Kart races up at Goodwood each year too.

I'm 39 but a kid at heart who doesnt know how to engineer his sim car... how do you do dampers? (Totally ok to ignore me lol)
@GDubRacer
Given youโve worked in a few different series how do the engineering challenges vary between F1, Indycar, Nascar, V8s (listing Penske series)? Similar at its core? Hard to switch between?
