When’s a Hate Crime not a Hate Crime? When it’s committed by the sibling of an SNP Minister…
It gets worse. Police Scotland reportedly told the complainer they couldn’t take her complaint of antisemitism because she, herself, isn’t Jewish. That’s not what their policy says!🎪

What can we expect? This law was intended to nail enemies of the Scottish Government and independence, yet gullible Scottish Labour & LibDem politicians supported it again.
@ablokefromleven
Shouldn’t need to. Police Scotland’s policy is clear. Anyone can make a complaint if they perceive they’ve witnessed a hate crime against a protected group.
Anything else would be ludicrous. Like saying you can’t report an assault in progress unless it’s you being assaulted.
@Fyrishsunset
The law allows reporting by third parties and anonymously. It is also based on perception of the person reporting. Police Scotland appear to be making things up as they go along.

@ralirali
Criticism isn’t. Using a swastika is. Assume you’re another one for whom 7 October 2023 doesn’t exist. Ex nurse? Jeezuz. Get gone and take your flags with you.
@Fyrishsunset
a complete shambles, so anothe precedent has now been set, by the end of the week this law will have to be repealed, it is literally pointless.
@Fyrishsunset
Official complaint to someone who can do something about this. The Police either don't understand this law...or are they missing the point on purpose? The reporter of this, regardless of their ethnicity, did so because she believed it infringed hate law.
