State media in #Poland has always been biased towards the incumbent, but never on this scale, says @Cambridge_Uni 's @StanleySBill . He points to campaign coverage that even included dog whistle anti-semitism... #F24Debate

At one point during the campaign, candidate Duda branded gay rights an ideology "more destructive" than communism. In #F24Debate , @tvp_info 's @dominikacosic argues that Poland's presidential election was neither won nor lost on issues of identity politics...

@FrancoisF24 @Cambridge_Uni I went on to say that the disadvantage to the opposition candidate was somewhat mitigated by broader pluralism of Poland's media market and the anti-PiS bias of some private media. See the whole debate on @France24_en (it should be up later this evening):

@FrancoisF24 @StanleySBill @Cambridge_Uni They fooled a nation that could easily be bribed... Im so sorry that it was impossible to stop this madness, I am afraid to think what Poland will look like after the next years with with this angry, evil little man controlling everything.

@FrancoisF24 @StanleySBill @Cambridge_Uni Spot on, @StanleySBill . Sadly, in many critical areas Poland is no longer a democracy. I may have been unimpressed by Duda’s contender(‘s campaign) but the role of the party/state media is unimaginable & should have been criminalized long ago. Effects? Not 2% extra but 10+%.
