@jiatolentino I was one of them. It was horrible and embarrassing and wrong. FWIW it was the moderator and a panelist who solicited audience questions before you a second question. I’ve never seen that happen before. I tried to steer the conversation your way. It wasn’t enough. I’m sorry.

I was just on a book panel called “Voices of Cultural Change” with four older white men & they literally solicited multiple audience questions before letting me speak 😂

@jiatolentino Also, let me say here what I said when the panel was closing: you’re a tremendous and brilliant writer and I hope everyone buys and reads your book.

@EricKlinenberg Your talking to me afterwards made me totally able to brush the bad feelings off—I’m really thankful for that, and for this

@EricKlinenberg @jiatolentino It's great that you noticed and apologized, both then & now. But ... Public scorn of other men is the only thing that will ever fix this. Your job was to call it out, then and there. Are you willing to risk the ire of other men? Do better. Please.

@jiatolentino Did anyone call them out? Not that it’s yr job to do so, but I’d love to see their faces if they had even a glimmer of self-recognition.
