The comment section shows how cooked people are & how they are so indoctrinated by consumer brain rot that they legitimately think forcing hardworking talented people back to a physical space will make the game magically ship better
You all have no clue how any of this works. 🫠
Grand Theft Auto 6 developers have criticised Rockstar’s “reckless” return-to-office mandate. "We now fear management may even be paving the way for a return to toxic ‘crunch’ practices”, one employee said.
Genuinely sad how many think remote = lazy. Don't worry little gamer bro, keep sitting in your secretlab chair sipping your Gfuel, us devs will keep making games regardless of 💩 head comments. We actually enjoy our job & want to make good games that everyone can enjoy.
@EZE3D
As someone who works from home and hires people remotely, I don't think working from home is better.
I'm sure plenty of people there are glad to return to the office.
I'd be surprised if crunch goes away when you work remote.
@Sacb0y
Crunch still happens with remote, but at least you aren't also having to commute or uproot your life. Remote isn't better or worse it's just another way of doing a job, as long as the communication & infrastructure is good both should work fine.
@nation_wc8460
There's people who work better in house & people who work better remote.
Companies supervise devs regardless, remote doesn't mean no supervision. They track hours, software use, mouse movement, data activity, etc.
@FreshStart512
Not at all. 99% of the times leaks don't even come from devs, no one is looking to get blacklisted from their career or sued. It usually comes from closed playtesters, closed media event attendees, angry ex-employees who get paid to leak & kept annonimous or close people to devs
@EZE3D
Both options have benefits and negatives but surely there is so much more to this than people understand.
However, working remotely is a luxury and if your employer asks for the entire studio to come back to office for the remainder of the games development then that’s what they…
@AlexHeartgrave
Rockstar is lucky to have the talent that they have. C-suits don't build GTA the devs do. Remote is a luxury yes but it often results in better worklife balance which leads to high performance, job satisfaction, increased focus, less time off & often more meaningful work hour.
@EZE3D
More like you love not having to interact with people to do your job.
More like you love being able to have all the comfort of your home while you do your job.
More like it's harder for people to hold you accountable for the quality of your work.
Just admit you're spoiled.
@Lingonius
I'm a very high performer that's constantly interracting with people.
I love having the comfort of my home, it's great, I get a lot done
Don't need to be held accountable, I always deliver. They have full visibility on my work.
Remote work is a great luxury I love it.
@EZE3D
I wonder if they hold these workers feet to the fire and MAKE them come back if we'll have more Leaks? I want the Dev Team and all the Folks working on this to do so at their own pace, forcing them ALL to be in a building makes no sense. Maybe a Team or Two if the Team WANTS to.
@FryrearEdward
Exactly, hybrid is cool. Working in a studio can be great, many people thrive in it, others are way less efficient & happy. Remote opportunities, means more devs from all over the world, more cool games, more skilled workers, happy workers that don't have to uproot, etc
@EZE3D
It only makes production faster I noticed it at my work not because people are lazy just cause the communication between eachother wasn't as easy, I could just go over to someone to ask for something or a question I would have to wait for them to respond instead
@ohsnapitysnapz
Having done both, I disagree, but everyone is different. Some work better at home others work better in studio. Not everyone can or wants to live in an expensive city or commute 2 hours a day. Not sure why this is so controversial. Plenty of great work getting done remotely.

@MaximumADHD
Whatever people yapping about on what the gaming industry is cooking, at least it's still cooking. Just wait for your food to be served right to perfect. Just don't mind all the yapping in the kitchen room, they will get it done. Let them cook.
