"It's too late to stop gen AI"
Companies training them can be regulated & forced to build ethically, shut down or sued.
There can also be laws made around AI content, competition & safety
They won't eliminate it but they can detere & restrict it to a harmless fun hobby.

I am AGAINST AI, have been warning of it for over 10 years. But they ARE right. Maybe you in a western country think only western rules mean anything. Many other nations don't even follow copyright laws and we're expecting them to abide by the use of AI? It's a race to the bottom
@EZE3D
-wait until all those companies have spent a huge chunk on setting up the AI models
-make them illegal unless they have explicit written consent from all artists
-if you play with fire...
@EZE3D
More often than not I hear the "you can't put the Genie back in its bottle" excuse regurgitated by AI enthusiasts which, Fine. I get it, but you can put a leash on it and stop it from running wild & making a mess, just like what it's doing to the creative industry.
@EZE3D
"It's too late to stop gen AI" people must inherently not believe in any kind of law because someone can still commit a crime.
"It's too late to stop murder"
@EZE3D
I miss the first 5 minute of genAI when it was creating cursed abominations on Dall E & I was blissfully unaware of how insidious it would become.
@EZE3D
Even IF AI was allowed to be trained off stolen work. Microsoft and other companies are seeking patents to own the hardware to run that tech efficiently.
They want control, plain and simple.
We lost a long time ago.
@EZE3D
Generative AI has enabled so many things, not only would you have to convince every country on Earth to kneecap their technological progress (including adversaries), but also roll back years worth of technological advancement, likely crippling the economy in the process.
