Dreamworks co-founder Jeff Katzenberg says AI will cut cost of animation movies by 90% within the next three years:
“In the good old days, you might need 500 artists and years to make a world-class animated movie. I don’t think it will take 10% of that three years from now.”
@EZE3D
On the flip side: it also means that the starving underpaid animator will be able to make his / her own damn movie all alone without even needing those fat cat executives.
@AIandDesign
There are already plenty of individuals and small teams doing amazing things with current technology, not to mention millions of currently employed artists, writers, actors etc. How do you propose these solo AI devs avoid starving while generating their own movie. UBI?
@EZE3D
Replacing CEOs would make way more sense because CEOs don’t actually do a lot of real work, and an AI CEO would probably be less of a hassle for human workers to deal with.
@EZE3D
Animated movies have already been going to shit recently because of what i presume is just a lack of effort thanks to the execs not gaf this'll just be a nail in the coffin
@EZE3D
Any AI generated video I have seen yet are just extremely weird unrelated images warped into each other in an awful way. If they think this could replace anything, they might not be suitable for their own job?
