The creative part of art is not tedious work & I'm tired of tech people claiming it is. Artists don't want a machine that is going to illustrate or create their models for them, come up with ideas for them & take their artistic voice & choices away from them.
@EZE3D
Most people in the community I know are simply using AI tools to realize their dreams. Look at the results of the gen48 competition.
That's art. I'll die on that hill. It's art.
@AIandDesign
The tweet isn't about if people can use gen content artistically/creatively. It's about those who see it as a shortcut to generate final products & claiming artists should be thanking them for eliminating the drudgery in art.
@EZE3D
By the creative part of art, do you mean coming up with the ideas? Or executing them? I do find the execution tedious, but I feel that tedium and the struggles to get there makes the final result feel that much more meaningful.
@thetakuser
Ideas are cheap, it's the execution of them, the human experience & limitations where ideas become a tangible & unique extension of a artists voice. While it's frustrating to have to work & fail to succeed, there's nothing like the feeling of self expression & seeing your growth.
@EZE3D
I'd only add that not all artists are the same. Not all processes look the same and there are disabilities that hinder some creativity. I'm speaking from experience. So for me, the creative part of making art can be very tedious and a painful experience.
@james_r_arndt
You may not value the process, just don't disrespect & devalue it for the rest of us. Many artists find the process & execution to be an important/meaningful part of the final result.
@LordsManor
What do you use for retopo? I find topogun makes it a lot simpler and quicker, but definitely agree it can get repetative.
Congrats on the release date by the way, looking forward to playing! 😁
@EZE3D
Yeah I mean I like drawing, I really think everything else comes after that. I like doing it as much as I like watching a good tv series, or playing a game. Not sure why I would chose not to do it. Might as well just browse artstation at that point.
