Putin should not survive his Ukraine adventure: all its premises have been invalidated: Zelensky did not flee, the Gov did not collapse, the armed forces did not dissolve, Russian forces did not seize every city, and Kiev's population is not obediently awaiting Russian rule.

Russian forces haven't seized a _single_ city. Way I see it this could go 3 ways: (1) Putin withdraws with egg on his face (2) Because of sanctions, the Russians live like North Koreans until they get rid of Putin in a few years (3) They get rid of Putin now.

It appears he genuinely believed what he was saying and expected his troops to be welcomed.
I believe a large part of it is that there's no brave enough person around him for the last โ15 years to tell him the truth. He's being told what he wishes to hear.

Not all the premises. NATO will not intervene, there will be no more talk about its expansion, any hopes for popular uprisings in Belarus are extinguished, Eastern Ukraine will be absorbed into Russia just as Crimea has been. Economic focus will be towards China (& India).
