Funfact!! Most women wait till they’re in horrible pain before taking anything bc so many feel guilty, dont feel like its “serious enough” or like we dont deserve to lessen the pain due to how society sees pain with women. This often is an issue with medical misogyny as well😭😭

Its not just me, many others also wait with taking painkillers out of fear we’re taking too many due to the amount of pain, shame, guilt but also are way less likely to receive pain medication than men in emergency situations.

yes!! my gf wanted to have our son w no epidural then she hit 5-6 cm dilation and she couldn’t handle it anymore so she “caved” as she says. i can tell it hurt her mentally to feel “weak” (even tho all the nurses and docs were so proud she lasted that long w her first kid)

No fr, and the worst part is, a lot of meds work way better if you take them when the pain starts so it doesnt get worse, and its less effective if you take them when the pain is at its peak
@kaelin_aether
Yea and the issue with that is that i can only take 2 per 6 hours so i gotta time it correctly with when my cramps start and when the pill takes effect. Its a guessing game and taking too many is bad for your liver or smthn so im just fucked. Doctors wont do shit either..

True dat. I usually only take painkillers when I have a flu. I’m also afraid I could get addicted so I try to avoid drugs unless they are absolutely necessary

Exactly👏👏 not to mention that while i think lots of medicine can be good, we still cant take excessive amounts and for my cramps it takes maybe 5% with 2 per 6 hours and 1 per 6 hours of another kind. Just kinda give up and die on the floor yunno. Cant leave the house😭😭
