Parents - there’s a National TikTok challenge in which students are instructed to trash the restroom at school. Please have a conversation with your child about respecting their school. It’s not only frustrating to talk with students about vandalism but disheartening.

Heard a teacher invoking the “2 for 10” with a student - spending two minutes with her every day for 10 days in a row. She just needed to ask how the student was doing. The student talked nonstop after that. That’s relationship building.

Setting up routines to check in with each student every day matters. Once, during a check in, a student told me that her grandpa passed away the day before. She wanted to talk with me knowing I’d ask how she was doing. It matters to have time built to check in with students!
