I find this so sad to read. I am Chief Medical Officer
@NHS_ELFT
am a gay man and been with my husband for 26 years. My sexual orientation is an important part of me but not my only defining feature. I am a son. A brother. A friend. A doctor. But most of all I am PROUD to be me

And we're proud to have you
@DrGilluley
no matter how many different boxes you tick or the numbers of features that define you. Please never stop being proud and never doubt that you should be. I hope the woman in the article can find the same sense of self and belonging.

Your sexual orientation shouldn't be an important part. The person u are should be. It doesn't matter who u love it shouldn't play a role. What should is that u are loved ..by many not just ur husband but that u also love with your whole heart&that experience is worth sharing❤️❤️

UR a good bloke,helpful, honest and straight! Talking that is 😂
For me it’s not important whether you’re gayornot. In 67 Zappa wrote, who cares if hair is long or short or partly grey, we know that hair ain’t where it’s at. There will be atime when you won’t even care if ur fat

I related heavily to this article and it’s sad to see this pattern repeating for our LGBTQ+ students. It’s time to stop this and get real change happening in the NHS and medical education. Staff and students should live, learn and work in fear of being outed 🏳️🌈
