Trying to clean our outdoor air seems attractive but founders on a point of physics: there is simply too much air to clean. It is better to stop it being polluted in the first place. My latest #pollutionwatch for @guardianeco ....

@DrGaryFuller @guardianeco There is also a brilliant scene in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia about how you can't unmix things: love a bit of effective science communication

@DrGaryFuller @guardianeco As I say when asked similar in public talks - it's like trying to clean the air in an aircraft hangar by waving a hoover nozzle around.

@DrGaryFuller @dpcarrington @guardianeco All tech fixes like this are to make us feel good but do nothing in reality for the planet as a whole. We only are the destroyer of the planets ecosystems, due to our need of only looking after ourselves. Whatever we do ,we destroy something. All Life is the Balance of food!

@DrGaryFuller @dpcarrington @guardianeco Agree. It's the same in the UK heating industry. The physical laws (2nd law) are completely being ignored. 90% of domestic boilers are massively oversized. Water is the most energy intensive common substance to heat and we are getting it so wrong @HeatingConsult @Installermag
