D’s consultant recently told him: “There is nothing now you can’t do”: 6 weeks since discharge from hospital & a recent setback but he was determined to do the GNR, his 1st on a wheelchair. Thank you Dr. Ian Thompson
@Tanni_GT
for lending D an enabling wheelchair

Daniel’s motto is “if I have 5% that works I will focus on that rather than the 95% that doesn’t”.
Last few days to support his fundraising for
@Newcastle_NHS
to help caregivers of sick children in long term hospital stay. Thanks to all who have done so
@AnnaandHobbes
Thank you. It was tough. He is new to the wheelchair & 1st time he pushes on steep inclines. He made me promise I would go alongside but not help at all. Yes a lot to learn from his grit. Few his age have been through what he has-many setbacks yet he finds another way every time!

Thank you. Daniel feels allegiance to Heaton Harriers as has been a member for many years since quite young. He would like to continue despite not being able to stand or run anymore. We hope the club will support his ambitions to train in wheelchair racing.
