During call with 200+ American lawmakers,
#Zelensky
interrupted his emotional plea for help with a classic zoom moment: "Senator Rick Scott,
#PleaseMuteYourMic
," according to someone familiar with the call.

Question: Demetri, how does the US deliver F-16 to Poland when production is constrained? Have you had a chance to examine the supply chain yet? Donβt they also have commitments to deliver F-16v to Taiwan as well? There is a balancing act that is worth examining
@gelliot57766809
That is a good question. I think they are looking at whether there are creative solutions. For example (and this is just speculation) could the US Air Force loan some F16s for a period.
@Dimi
UA pilots cannot operate any of Western fighters. Only MIGs. And there are about 40 MIGs in possession of NATO countries mostly by Poland. But Poland needs to get F16s in exchange. And security guarantee from US.
@Dimi
Didnβt the EU have some sort of fighter jet deal that seemingly didnβt happen the following day? They even said theyβd βbe up in the air within the hourβ then nothing.
@Dimi
@IntelCrab
I am convinced that the deal was blown because we talked to much the other time. It is wise sometimes to keep breaking the news until later.
@Dimi
They need to be MiGs or Sus. Those are the planes the Ukrainians are trained on and know how to use. They do not have US or NATO planes in their inventory.
@Dimi
This is a tough call. No matter the number of planes that Poland supplies them, no matter how skilled or brave the Ukrainean pilots, realistically it's almost guaranteed that they'll be lost to Russian airpower, sooner or later. Russian equipment and numbers are simply too large.
@Dimi
Well, Poles are in a good position to negotiate 2 F16 with free support for 10 years, against each single Mig-29. It takes a little time but it would be time well spent for them π
