Fair enough, but can you explain why you chose to buy the house through an offshore company rather than either through a Barbados one or in your own name? Did you know of the potential tax benefits of doing so?
@DavidhBrown
Not at all. As far as I knew it was a bog standard arrangement encouraged at the time by Barbados to encourage folk to buy/build there, thus generating employment and tax revenue. Property paid for with earnings already taxed in UK. All transparent & above board.
@DavidhBrown
Hey David why dont you tell me how you bought your last home, or maybe what your mortgage payment are. Are you freelance or employed solely by the times, where can i find your tax return.
@DavidhBrown
Why would any sane person go out of their way to pay more, if a cheaper, legal option was made available? Like duty free in the airport? Cheaper brands in the USA? You're trying to start fires with a water pistol. Behave yourself.
@DavidhBrown
This is going really well for u David isnβt it?! At best people are ignoring you, those that arenβt are pointing out how badly youβve tried to make your point!

@DavidhBrown
little knowledge about what you are writing about is lazy journalism and fake news. FYI Barbados is offshore so using a Barbadian company would have meant using an offshore company perfectly logical!

@DavidhBrown
Ah and here comes the journalist of all people quoting morale compass". I am sure his tax adviser told him there was a legal way of avoiding tax so he went with it , what's the problem? Slow news week
@DavidhBrown
Bore off...just a boring journalist that will try and fill newspapers with whatever you can...some weird vendetta on
@GaryLineker
π sure you can fill the papers with more important things going off in the world

The intention was to highlight the lack of caring of what a parasite reporter thinks of

purchasing habits. Obviously nothing better to do, a little like yourself trying to belittle me... and failing!
