You may love Tre Ford and there are good reasons to have that sentiment. You may dislike the contract for MBT which is a valid take. Seeing tweets saying "Bethel-Thompson is a bad QB" is high on the list of false takes.

Salary is just the cost of doing business because a couple of other teams were bidding. Mid-30’s isn’t as old as it used to be for a QB.

quality in a qb is consistent throwing accuracy. MBT is substantially better at that than Ford. as much as I like Ford I think it would help his development to practice with MBT, learn to read defences and throw him in for a few series to keep D honest

For me, it’s the potential cap hit. I’m sure Tre knows he could use some mentorship. I still hope he plays more than a few games for the fans. Including myself

I like that it's a vet qb coming to the qb room and that it's for 1 yr which shows it's still ford's team for the future even if he struggles this year and the contract is highly incentive structured so only gets paid a lot if he steals the starter position.
