Do you know what the tax rate was in the period of real American dominance? Say 1944-1970?
Hint: substantially higher than now. Like, you would not believe how much.

Nope. . Depending on how the laws are structured, you can pay less taxes even with higher tax rates, because you can declare a lower income, get rebates, etc.
