Goodison Park doesn't respond to slow, sweeping, easy on the eye football.
It instead thrives on hard working, aggressive, intense, in your face action.
Today illustrated that, and it's something the Everton hierarchy need to keep in mind for their next managerial appointment

Ferguson’s tactics spot on, we haven’t got the players to pick the ball up short from the GK, play out through midfield and slide balls to the striker. So let’s be more direct, load 2 upfront, play off the CF, get the ball into the box quickly. Pickford went long all game

I think Goodison does appreciate good football hence "School of Science" monicker and complete rejection of Sam Allardyce from day one. However, we insist on commitment especially if we're not as good as the opposition. That's why Tuesday's derby debacle, was the last straw.
@DAHughes_
100% correct.
Not perfect,but to those who question what do Evertonians want, what is their identity, today was the answer.
Everton is high tempo, powerful, aggressive, skilfull football, players who show pride and passion and feed off the loyal Everton support
@DAHughes_
Despite the numerous 100%s from people, this isn't entirely true. If we played the type of football you speak of with the right players and consistently broke down defensive minded teams, scored goals and won most home games in doing so then goodison would react just fine
@Gre9oryPeck
You won't be successful by playing a direct, high-tempo and aggressive style of football? That just isn't true.
I assume you are thinking of an Allardyce/Dyche type of game... which is not what I am referencing.
@DAHughes_
We only ask that players give everything on the pitch, joe Parkinson, Lee carsley, IGG etc gave everything fir the shirt abd are regarded as club legends
@DAHughes_
As a football fan of a "lesser" club I can accept pretty much anything as long as the players give 100% and fight for the jersey. Everton did that today and it was brilliant to watch.

Defo, there will have been some Happy Everton wives out there yesterday, knowing their men enjoyed watching big Dunc doing a 'klopp' along the touchline, great to see. đź‘Źđź‘Ź
