This is what I'm referring 2 when I say u need 2 ask 4 permission/share straight from source & tag the creator (none of which was done & this is from another local account that doesnt follow me on any social platform). TY 2 the person that told me.

This happens sparingly, but please dont ever screenshot peoples' content & post it to your feed, without asking for permission.
Please always share directly from the source, so photogs/artists/etc get credit. Or...create your own content.đź’—

And just like the other account, they ignored me completely and deleted the photo. Can tag Travis Scott on his shared content, but can't do the research and tag the local photog. Solid.
@JamesDuty2
All it would have taken was a name search on IG, from the jump - or to tag me after I politely asked. I dont appreciate my pics being screenshot, cropped and then not properly credited/tagged -- no actual photographer would be ok with that.
@CtyGrlPhoto
This happens to my freelance writing constantly. Sometimes they use it without my name, sometimes with. When I ask them to pay me or take it down, they say they're doing me a favor (without paying). I'm not in the biz of doing work for free for someone who makes a profit from it.
@DanMcGraw1
It's irritating. Anyone that actually creates their own content, in an capacity, knows this feeling. Exposure is a nice thing, to a degree, but doesnt pay the bills. Copyright theft is a whole other level. I dont understand why its a hard concept for some.
@ExploresMr
Thing is...that account & the one that did the same thing on the 17th knows protocol, because they have properly tagged local male photogs. Alllll of these accounts arent in another country...they are in this city. One was even in OHC. They need to do better.
@CtyGrlPhoto
Also a good time to remind local creatives that an auto-message from a local city account asking you to give permission to “use” your photo by responding w/a hashtag is often a marketing grab; you might be signing away your copyright without even knowing it.
@CLEtraveler
Yes-very true! Any of these goofy msgs that come thru about we love your picture & would love to use it for XYZ...if you agree with what is in this URL, just reply with # '____'. If you agree, they then have full rights to use for free for any/all marketing.
@CtyGrlPhoto
Do you want this place to be famous? Create an outstanding shot. People remember it and you. When I see your magnificent shot of this place they’ll think of the good old Cleveland town.
Example:
@MutigliDaniel
I don't take 'people' pictures. Also, that is a wedding shot, which is a completely different style of photography.
Ur more than welcome to go to college for Photography, buy all the gear, yearly Lightroom sub & take the photos you think would work/you like.
@mbona30
The public might get a pass, but even at this point, it's pretty well known. Big accounts like ImFromCLE, OhioCityInc or any other major company -they know better. I called IFC out on social becuz I asked them nicely to tag me, but they wanted to be assholes.
