Regarding this alarm test on Sunday the 23rd of April, you do know we have had sirens on fire station property as well as council buildings since the second world war, which have never needed to be tested, ever! Please wake up, this is about "Something else" not your safety.
@CromwellStuff
We had nuclear attack sirens up to the early 1990s and the end of the Cold War.
They were tested audibly and inaudibly.
This is new technology in modern smartphones, so think 1950s and nuclear alert sirens.
@CromwellStuff
They were tested and are still in use in some places, but many were removed as part of the post Cold War decommissioning of civil defence infrastructure.
How does sending an alert to a phone give a government more powers over you than it already has?
@CromwellStuff
My mum dosnt have a smart phone only a bog standard mobile dose that mean she won't get the alert. I'm bloody hoping she won't. I hope, all the kids knock their alerts off. Told my grandkids to get theirs off.
