Icon of Italian cinema Monica Vitti has passed away at the age of 90. Vitti was best known for her appearances in several of Michelangelo Antonioni’s most celebrated films: L’AVVENTURA (1960), LA NOTTE (1961), L’ECLISSE (1962) and RED DESERT (1964).

French actor Gaspard Ulliel has died aged 37. After breaking through in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT he notably appeared in Bertrand Bonello’s SAINT LAURENT & Xavier Dolan’s IT'S ONLY THE END OF THE WORLD and was known internationally as the face of Bleu de Chanel.

Swedish-born actor Max von Sydow has passed away at the age of 90. After first working with director Ingmar Bergman for the stage, von Sydow appeared in 11 of his films, including THE SEVENTH SEAL (1957), in which von Sydow played a knight engaged in a game of chess with Death.

Italian composer Ennio Morricone has passed away today at the age of 91. Born in 1928 in Rome, Morricone learned to read music with his father and soon took up the trumpet. He wrote his first compositions at 6 years old & continued to write classical pieces throughout his career.
