Clarke has coarse, "cute" peasant features. Emma D'Arcy/Matt Smith are fugly potato heads
They refuse to cast attractive Nordic leads even if integral to the script lol

James Cameron once said on the set of Terminator 2 that "the more fantastic [a story] is, the more REAL it needs to be"
IOW, for the essential fantasy elements of your story (dragons etc) to be immersive, the rest of the setting, characters etc need to be fully grounded & "real"
