@DrShamwell
That’s 💯% right. Idk how else to explain it, first time I saw my attending do the badge flip in the trauma bay I was like hmm. 30 seconds later within an open chest, I understood why
@CPark_MD
- the badge opens all doors, you can’t move 50 feet without it, so the lanyard never comes off while I’m in the hospital.
- in the pocket (L picture) >>> on your back (R picture)
@rbarbosa91
The one time I left my badge at home I felt useless. The left scrub pocket is so high-real estate though, can’t afford to keep the badge there (plus it doesn’t fit—ahem asking scrub manufacturers to increase the pocket size)
@CPark_MD
Same goes for special education teachers. If you see one flip their lanyard and put their hair up, you’d better duck bc a desk is about to come flying from somewhere
@CPark_MD
They’re also choke hazards if you have a violent patient. This is coming from someone who was stabbed in the head by a patient. By the way the guy who stabbed me… he got 5 years in a Federal penitentiary.
