The Black Country Geopark is steeped in industrial history & stunning geology stretching back 428 million years. In the 1830s the Industrial Revolution began in the Black Country. The area was covered with mines, factories & mills thanks to its rich coal seam & iron ore.

Straddling the border of Northern Ireland & the Republic of Ireland, is the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark Geopark. Glacial landforms make up a significant part of its geodiversity. The ribbed moraines extending across mid-Cavan are internationally important for glacial research.

The most northerly of the UK’s Geoparks, Shetland contains rocks from every geological period from the Precambrian to the Carboniferous. The rocks tell an amazing story of how the world has formed and changed & its northerly location means it's a haven for wildlife.
