I trust animals more than some people.
Why is it some of us can communicate with animals and others are clueless?
Eternal question.
Too deep?

I babysat two Chihuahua-cross doggies. One named 'Bruce'. He hated everyone & liked to nip. On our first meeting I just casually sat on the back patio and allowed him to approach me.
His hooman parents said they have never seen him take to a stranger like he did with me.

My husband is completely ambivalent towards dogs, and animals in general, but he is the kindest, loveliest soul who's loyally been by my side for nearly 44 years. Dogs, and kids, like him, in spite of his ambivalence.

A sweeping statement that ignores the fact that young children get mauled to death, and that trained attack dogs are used by the police, military, and torturers.
I have heard it said that dogs act like their owners.
I love dogs, but some of their owners are unfit to keep a pet.

At a T-Ball game, our poodle growled and barked at a man nearby, first time he ever did anything like that, and the man wasn’t doing anything to trigger it.
It wasn’t long though before the man was yelling and cursing at the coaches and his son.
Dogs know.
