My biggest fear is the fgc will keep trying to find "the game" to fit all their needs.
People said DBFZ but netcode and mechanics
People said GBVS but netcode and pandemic
People said Strive but simplification and polarizing top tiers
Now people are looking at Melty next.
@Bronagi
Exactly my fear. People will reach a honeymoon period with melty then go to KoF, then DNF Duel and eventually League of Fighters.
It's a really bad cycle of events
@Bloo4LYFE
I mean yeah, with each game that comes out some portion of the fgc won't like it and will be vocal about it. May I ask what you fear will happen as a result of this?
@Kirgio89
Just constant negativity towards any and all games that does not fit the exact mold that the general FGC audience wants.
Players as a whole will question themselves about if they truly like a game or if they are lying to themselves and eventually leave the game to avoid backlash
@Bloo4LYFE
I feel like this has been happening for a while but became even bigger over the last year and a half or so. Even within the first couple of weeks of Strive’s release, I saw a bunch of “Strive is ok but if x game had this netcode then I wouldn’t even have bought Strive”.
@Bloo4LYFE
Everyone wants perfection but will use the smallest reasons to drop a game
Melty is seeming to have it all, good netcode, mechanics and complexity but people aren’t gonna touch it because “the character designs are boring”
