a (spicy?) thought about sponsorship: if you're trying to sponsor a #ttrpg actual play/content creator, ensure you've watched at least like... one? of their things? & not just looked at their numbers before you meet with a representative of the show. or at least lie. ๐Ÿงต

because I (Em) as Creative Director want to talk to you about how we can help showcase your product. how it could fit into our shows/content. I've seen panic in the eyes two brand reps now who outright admitted they hadn't. and wow did that ever shift the tone of the meeting.

especially if you as the brand are reaching out to the creator. it feels rather disrespectful and shows a lack of understanding of how this industry and space operates. feels pretty unprofessional. we as creators have passion for what we do. & we want to showcase your stuff.

I also want to recognize the privilege of being approached for sponsorship. I'm so grateful that people want to help us make our content at BW. at the end of the day, kindness & respect are a free action, folks. goes a long way to building a connection when working together. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@BlackwaterDnd "you mean we can't just pay for a prime time ad in your channel and we never talk again?"
