Not a word of congratulation for our own diplomats?! Have I missed it?
I get she wouldn’t credit minister/government… but the diplomats and officials working flat out in HQ, embassies and on the ground?
@Bentonra
I'm more than willing to give SF a fair hearing. But frankly, they're increasingly behaving like a bunch of student politicians that haven't grown up...with a couple of exceptions.
@Bentonra
On Planet Sinn Féin, everything is divided into them & us. Civil servants aren’t Shinners & are therefore part of “them”. Sinn Féin can never acknowledge any merit or virtue in anyone who isn’t one of “us”. It’s a common characteristic among populists & ideologues
@Bentonra
I noticed that. I checked any of her posts I could find to see if she had any congratulatory words for the staff of DFA but I didn't see anything.
Glad I'm not alone in noticing this glaring omission.
@Bentonra
Not being smart, but what role did our diplomats play in negotiating the hostage exchange? Any sources on this? Emily Hand, I understood, is one of the hostages released in this first wave because she is a child, not because she's Irish, so not due to any diplomatic efforts by us
