@CouncillorBill Indeed, Labour need to spend the next 6 months talking to every voter in Hartlepool to understand why they didn't vote for us and how we can win them back.

@BenCooper86 In simple terms we were unelectable in early 80s. Sad that we've gone the "Woke" route in last 18 months. It doesn't work and we need to re-engage with Northern voters who hate being called "working class" by someone who is a Sir.

@BenCooper86 I survived that and stuck with Labour on their long path to power in 1997. I fear Labour may not be able to unite again.

@BenCooper86 I think this is worse and my anger with Labour is down to one thing. It has clearly learnt nothing from the 1980s
