@neontaster We lost 7,000 marines on Iwo Jima. A relatively small island defended by 20,000 Japanese soldiers. There were nearly 2 million Japanese under arms in the Home Islands. Perhaps Hannah-Jones is aware of these facts. I have my doubts.

@JerryDunleavy I like the "you" enslaved our ancestors. I am certain I do not currently own slaves and as a conservative, oppose slavery on principle. But I also lack a time machine to go back and own them. If I had such a device I would go back to 2000 and buy lots of lots of Apple.
